         N89XX  single-sided Lighting Module

The N89XX lighting module is slightly larger in physical size (0.375" x 0.375") as compared to our other N80XX, .NLA80XX, NLD80XX & L80XX simulator modules (0.310" x 0.310").

The reason for this difference is that we have placed all of the components on the front side of the board and have replace the through-hole solder points with top-surface solder pads for wire connections.. This allows the back of the board to be electrically "blank" for situations that require direct mounting to modeling surfaces without concern about electrical shorting issues or flat surface requirements.

The N89XX series has the same on-board 5-volt DC precision regulator for output voltages and supports a DC input voltage range of 5.6-18 volts. It also has on-board DC polarity protection which can be usefull for model railroaders in Analog applications that require lighting effects that operate in forward track polarity but not in reverse.

Additionally, we have provided front-side board placement for up to five current limiting resistors and five sets of solder pads for five individual anode (+) and cathode ((-)LED connections.
